Poem
When I was younger I was always the smallest child in my class. While every other kid was peaking at five feet tall in the 7th & 8th grades, I was barely hitting the four foot mark. Although I was small, I was feared by many of the students in my grade. A lot of the kids knew me as a tough guy because of my wrestling skills and because I loved to fight and I loved to box. I had gotten into many fights in my early years, but for good reason. You see, I never started a fight just for the sake of fighting, that wasn't my style. Believe it or not, I must have beat the hell out of fifteen or twenty kids in my school years. The kids that I fought all deserved to get their butts kicked. The kids I beat up were the bullies who picked on the weaker students, the helpless innocent kids that were being picked on for no reason at all. When I saw someone getting beat up by bullies, well that just drove me nuts and I went on a tear. It was well worthy of a 3-day suspension for me, the satisfaction of knowing that those bullies would think twice the next time they wanted to pick on someone was most rewarding to me. So, all this being said, I decided to tell this story because of something I just read from a fellow poetess about a boy who was bullied by some teens and shortly after had passed away from his injuries. So this dear child, I say to you "Angels danced the day you were born, and they wept when they welcomed you home" tragic senseless shame bullying teens are the blame this is not a game Thank you Jeanne McGee for sharing your sad and heartfelt story of that poor child who was bullied and died. Jeanne's poem "In Memory" encouraged me to write this. Angels Danced Poetry Contest Sponsored by Lu Loo 9-1-2019
