Poem

Going through those pearly gates, surely is a dream,
But once you get there, will it be, all that it seems?

Forever is a long, long time, decidedly an age.
Are there days in heaven though, time for us to gage?
For each day must be the same, if a day exists,
Or is it just heavenly goodness that generally persists? 
What is there to do each day, except to praise and pray?
To sing along with heavenly angels, every single day. 
What if your brothers absent, sentenced to a hell,
To make it worse, what if your father's there as well? 
Will heaven be so heavenly, without our family tree?
Wouldn’t you just want to be, wherever they might be?
If time exists in heaven, as sensibly it must, 
A million years will pass and not see us turn to dust.
By then are you completely bored, aching for some fun?
To suffer the same old, once another million years is done.
Is my mother up there now, with grandparents to match?
Someone who will greet me, upon whom I can latch?

I do hope god has figured out, we’re only human after all,
and for my wife, make sure that heaven has, a great big shopping mall.
