Poem
Did you know That when you left You took A large piece of me with you Its been almost a year now And I wonder Do you think of me as often as I think of you My mind comprehends why But sadness and loss linger Because my heart will never understand Nothing without you has grown easier I don't miss you less, I don't love you less I am just used to the pain now Our last week together stuck in my mind squeezing out every possible moment Just to be together I sit often in that stand of pines Where we made love, and then both sobbed together Knowing that we would no longer see each other daily I cry just as hard today I don't have to look hard to find you your fingerprints are all over my being My emotions ebb and flow You're gone and I'm living in hell The one constant is the way my entire being screams out for you Your words haunt me "I don't know what to do without you" "I still think we will wind up together" Again I understand Us together would hurt and affect too many others But do you still feel the same way Your pop-ins Tell me that you do Your being still screams for me You tell me of your misery You explain how you fill your time because I'm not there You beg me to understand that you love me too Twice now you have opened up To me, about your circumstance About your unfulfillment and constant longing Does it sound as twisted in your ears as mine Hearing about how you want the one your with To be more like the one you want You explain how the aura of your life is not the reality of it You regale with stories of looking for passion in work because there is no passion anywhere else in your life When you saw me at that run Did your heart squeeze as tightly as mine did Did you die inside as I did because we had to share each other with others When you touched my arm Did a thousand emotions all come rushing in at once Did everything else fade to the feeling of just wanting to hold each other again There's still a boy who writes you He does not know how not to He doesn't know how not to love you Would we have used our time more wisely If we knew that when we met I stopped becoming part of your future And started speeding towards becoming part of your past Miles and miles separate us but you are close each and every moment I think of you so often it is like you never left You took a large part of me with you I do not pray for your failure, be happy I was a person who wanted nothing more than to make you happy Love of a Lifetime
