Designed Evolution?
 
As Blue Sky’s dreams take root in fields like Daffodils
That blossom knowledge Love does serve all human souls,
Their truth grows wild across our lands! Oh, every crevice touches strands
Where Evolution has a chance to praise God’s poems, dance His dance!
Though man loves choice, diversity reflects God’s goals
(Constrained by heaven’s purpose?) Change is what He wills!
 
As we evolve in Grace towards Love through ups and downs,
On roads that wind, go straight through forest glades and dells,
Good fortunes we hope pacify, the storms that we might classify
As ‘Category Five’ (or more?), is life a challenge you abhor?
Aren’t you provisioned on your way with frequent wells
You did not dig but profit by? ‘Man’ votes for clowns?
 
Is ‘Evolution’ real? Is ‘Science’ vanity?
To claim “Creation fell” with man’s insane not strange!
If life can challenge, death does too, and limits bound what mortals do
To candle’s span! Is there a top? Love’s ‘Evolution!’ Will it stop
Should all men pass? You’re ‘God’ who ‘KNOWS’ that ‘GOD’ can’t change?
Am I a fool? Evolving God’s what’s real to me!
 
Postscript:
Believers, doubters see sun’s rise on ‘Good’ and ‘Bad,’
And rain finds ‘Just,’ ‘Unjust.’ But life and love find gain
From changes’ EVOLUTION’ brings this world, although we may feel stings
(some consequences of our sin!) It’s Faith that seems to proffer win.
But ‘Living Faith’ in God evolves, is served by pain!
When ‘Fake Views’ trash the ‘Real?’ ‘Best Weaves’ loomed more than sad!

Poet’s Notes:
Many people pray and dream that ‘LOVE’ defines God. Poetically I think of LOVE and JUSTICE more like twins born of the same MOTHER for it is hard for me to imagine how such ‘children’ can occupy the same space. We pray that JUSTICE gets served to others but quail (in misery) at the prospect of receiving it ourselves. LOVE seems more palatable, but do we fully understand it? Are Love and Justice Siamese twins?
 
For thousands of years, men thought that the Old Testament was God’s complete revelation. Many still believe that this is true. Christ himself implied that the Old Testament is perfect, that every ‘t’ crossed and every ‘i’ dotted. But what does ‘perfect’ mean? Christ suggests that the New Testament does not change the Old Testament but intends to amplify our understanding of it. Is it God evolving then or is it His Revelation to us that is growing? Was Christ the true Messiah? I believe that He was. Still, I ask the question with no fear!
 
SCIENCE appears to me to be another ‘child’ of a (Mother?/Father?) God that is separate and yet equal to both Love and Justice! Humans profit greatly by “seeking answers, asking questions, and knocking on doors” (a behavior that the Bible itself suggests to us!) We see today, that TRUTH exists that the Bible does not hint or suggest. Because of man’s history with God in the Bible, it would be quite foolish to be ‘certain’ that God’s revelations to man are complete!
 
It is undoubtedly true that the ‘Bible’ (what man first understood God’s revelation to be) has evolved since Christ’s birth, the cake has new layers of meaning, and Science (also God’s gift to man!) is adding even more layers of its own to God’s Truth (to the horror of many, who need to be RIGHT!)
 
Is God evolving, man’s understanding of God that grows, or both? Science has proven beyond the doubt of any man of courage, reason, and Faith (you must have all three) that man was not just created, but miraculously evolved as well. I do not fear God, because in Faith I both believe in Him and trust His Judgement on us all, Christian and non-Christian)! I fearlessly refuse to fear the true God!
 
In my dotage, I’ve conceived of a new ‘definition’ for God that better serves my appreciation for His Creation, which ‘logic’ tells me must be true if God exists at all. God’s Creation MUST reflect God’s Nature! God has no choice! If free will exists at all, allows mistakes to get made (and God made us?), God Himself MUST both evolve with time and change His mind at times! Can God’s Creation demand that God not change? Creation evolves, so God evolves! Nature obeys rules of logic, so God does too! QED!
 
How can God sin? Who can judge God? Certainly not his Creation! I have a new definition of sin, as well. Sin is not just what is evil, that is but a tiny part of what sin is. Sin is ‘humanity’s separation from God!’ That’s it. And God (in my definition) is ‘EVOLVING EVOLUTION!’ My Bible tells me that God loves it when we are either “hot” or “cold” for ‘HIM!’ He can work both! What He hates and “spits out” is what’s “lukewarm!” I feel confident that God is laughing convulsively WITH ME (not at me) right now! Please join my celebration of ‘GOD’S GRACE’ if you wish!
 
‘NO ONE LOVES A CHILD MORE THAN GOD!’ It is my ‘faith’ that God learns more about Himself, about humor, about love, and justice, etc. every day as He accompanies each of us individually throughout our lives. Perhaps God even creates new Science for us to puzzle over, a Christmas gift He keeps on giving? My ‘faith’ is, that as it is with our parents here on Earth, we frequently amaze Him, help Him, as we do our parents, to grow!
