Poem

I'm a 'Renaissance Man' though 'Times' honor the specialist,
Money (and sex) get bestowed on male drones who have narrowest
Focus of all! Do lads cultivate 'Fall' when frails graze in the mall?
Might space aliens see when more 'ladle born hands' rock the cradle,
And 'balance' is lost? Don't our lassies complain too when we 
Aren't more 'Present' to them, to the earth? This life's fruit of that tree?

"By the sweat of man's brow does he earn food to eat," a curse?
"Pain found in labor for maidens in birth," just a fact, or hearse
Privileged ride in? This Vision's what Darwin (although with chagrin
Of new Truth) gave the world. This new Science expanded (though minds whirled)
What we thought we knew! And for better or worse we see life's
Place more clearly, and earth, men aren't central! Survival's God's wife?

Is all life then an accident, or more a privilege
That we're all given? Are genes that evolve more a cartilage
Linking our dreams (not proverbial schemes) to a future that gleams,
Bitter proof God's not there, or incitement to Faith that He does care?
Does logic or faith yield more answers for men on our plane?
Is man's faith there are answers a fuel that drives hearts toward gain?

Yes, survival has value! New answers are better, though!
Effort rewarded (and thought)! Is life's joy just its afterglow? 
God's just a joke that is spun by sad folk that are high from a 'toke?'
If true peace is to be more than pie-shaped-cloud passing past mind's eye
Give poetry credit, for words share a fragrance of God and persist
When earth's demons conspire to hate Truth, who claim Love can't exist!
