Octopuses From Outer Space I'm glad I'm not some 'octoplie' I'd not serve friends in Shephard's Pie What slimy mollusk could invent Or needs eight arms: A hollow tent (More land than sea) who won't pay rent! Rich born with more? (Some do sport ten!) If tentacles count, squids might win! One big surprise is sight I hear, First eyes on Earth whose vision's clear, Survives by clouds that others scare. Medusa's trick has far less flair, Turns men to stone without a chance Trump grabs or spins his 'True Romance!' Her head sports snakes that writhe and warn. Of both be warned, if human born! Why voyage to a distant star We've stranger things, Trump Tower's bar Where Russians greet our President. Don thinks dictators represent The best of man and kicks the can Of Global Warming! Feckless man, No reprobate, he robs Earth's till, No thought of Jack, far less of Jill. He uses wealth to rape the world Fake hair, fake news: Trump's flag unfurled! He laughs when child at border dies, No crime regrets though Nature cries! His kids help instigate more crimes And make a joke of "March of Dimes!" His seed's as wormy as can be His apples rot still sucking tree. The 'octoplie' is true 'blue blood,' Not born to fear a damning flood. Does it seem fair what floats can't drown? Immunity to Sin's a crown? Where's room for fish on Noah's Ark Does 'Fall' exist? God's wrath miss mark? The flood subsides, Ark's contents out, Do hungry lions stay devout? It seems Men need to deal with Sin Of every man, if Earth's to win! Trump lies to hide tax owed not paid And publicly asks Russian aid To get elected! Fair or foul? Will honesty throw in the towel? May we, in TRUTH, be bold! What's fair's To not be cowed by billionaires. If you think that my Truth's perverse How can you bear his 'Octiverse?' Though fashion is not metered rhyme, His Truth decays in record time What's true one day is false the next The 'tweet that lies' is Trump's subtext Its clouds of ink conceal his fear! But Ass is all that he holds dear! Do you seek safety in a crowd? My friend, I say this loud, not proud, "The earth is dying as we speak!" My poem's English, too, not Greek! How long can profiteers obstruct Mirage collapse that they construct! What's dangerous is cornered Bear, Red Ass Trump loves! What can compare? Brian Johnston 24th of June in 2019
