Poem
I can still feel your spirit crying out inside me Everywhere I go I can feel you walking beside me And a village of spies running around me Something is really making me uneasy No one is really bothering me now But from the day you announce that you are going to quit Something strange has over shadowed me and it will not leave me I am feeling a great sense of remorse that you plan to go And you haven’t completed the show The stage is still set the audience is waiting and my heart is breaking just because you said that you are going to go I have carried you in my bosom all these years I v’e nurtured and cherished you And did everything possible to promote you I have taken so much from you that has given me life I always feel your presence in my room Now that you say that you are leaving My spirit cannot stop grieving The time has come when I have to Show my strength and stamina To avert a foreseen disaster I have been preparing for this for many years I have practiced day and night And I have put up a strong fight Even when the wind is lashing to and fro I am always on the go to do the last show I can still see the sadness on your red lips And can see you anxiously waiting For that promised kiss, He is waiting anxiously for you How much he adores you The silence of the night seeps into my soul And the wind is showing me which place to go Cars and trucks are rolling down the street And the buses are going around the beat I am trying to make sense of a distant sound It is the sound of laughter, and loud chatter Singing and shouting dancing and prancing. And the anxious crowd waiting on the other side There is a game in the crowded stadium A cloud of white filled one side And sea of maroon red on the other side The cloud sat silently like a choir Waiting to start a religious ceremony While the other side is screaming and shouting Passion is running high but reason filled the sky Anxious eyes move up and down the crowd While tearful eyes waiting for a chance to roll their dice Anxiety mounts and the sound of a distance drum Echoed across the field listening to their silent plea But it was not meant to be The river of blood was waving after me They began to celebrate until they broke out of the gate It was evident that the game was over When they broke out of the barrier Screams and shout echoed all about The looser wept while the winners celebrate Why can’t the looser celebrate with the winner? I win and you loose I laugh you cry I celebrate but you are pumped up with hate Why can’t the looser celebrate with the winner? I am a nomad in this little town I am roaming from town to town I don’t know where I am bound I am hopping from city to city I am feeling very jittery I have no tent I have no den But I am waiting for the hen to lay the egg I laugh you cry Why can’t the looser celebrate with the winner? Big men are brought to tears Shaking in anxiety and despair Hands clenched to their shoulder Looking on in disbelief at their lost victory They were stranded in the middle of town They have lost the bet and I picked up what was left Why can’t the winner celebrate with the looser? I can share my joy with you And congratulate you when you get the breakthrough, Why can’t the winner celebrate with the looser?
