Kissing For Beginners. Do you recall your first kiss That was supposed to fill you with heavenly bliss But filled you with nervous anticipation It looked simple enough on telly But I had butterflies in my belly I hated girls when I was a kid I’d rather kiss a pregnant pig But suddenly I noticed They looked so pretty Well some did on Laughton commons White City They smelled nice I thought they tasted like strawberry and cream I’d daydream At school And all day long With a lovely warm feeling inside And long wonderful sighs I’d fall in love with a new girl every week But my tongue was tied And I couldn’t speak I’d worry about getting my first kiss right So much I couldn’t sleep at night Do you suck or blow Where does your tongue go What if she was taller or smaller than me What if our lips didn’t fit Do you have to move your lips around a bit They called snogging French kissing But did you have to Be French What if I slavered too much And she got drenched What if her teeth got in the way If I got it wrong What would I say I’d practice on the back of my hand And my pillow But not on our snotty bulldog willow Oh no Kissing Was something I knew I had to do But I didn’t have a clue Then one day Out of the blue The heavens opened and an Angel appeared By the side of a rusty old garage in some nettles It was a girl I knew I was drawn and transfixed on her suspicious lips Like a month to a flame I even knew her name Ethel With a glint in her eyes And lovely smelling hair Her lips pouted like a trout I slowly walked up to her I was finally going to know What love was all about The butterflies fluttered in my tummy I was like a bee making honey We finally stood face to face I could feel her breath And my heart began to race I held her in my arms And our lips finally met Her breath smelt and tasted like a cigarette Our lips didn’t fit right There was no suction And I held her too tight I was so embarrassed I could have crawled in a hole Besides that, she had a cold I ended up in bed with flu for a week I had a bad head And laid in bed So poorly Where was that magic spark And the falling stars after dark The sound of an Angels symphony Well I'm sorry it never happened to me Eventually, I got it right It felt lovely in my belly and my heart I loved it that much The parents would have to pull us apart I was told many a time I was a great kisser As for my first kiss I didn’t miss her How I miss a cuddle and a kiss Wrapped up in someone's arms On the sofa watching an old movie A good bottle of wine And Belgium chocs And a bag of crisps Ahhh My idea of bliss. So if you are young and long For your first kiss And bliss Take your eyes off your phone Remember to take out your cigarette first You don’t want to burn them Or boy does it hurt Your lips like mine will eventually fit If you move them Around a bit Peter Dome©2019.
