GRIMM’S FAIRY TALE RETOLD In a beautiful huge green forest, Lived 3 honest people, Hansel and Gretal And their father, And two wicked women, the witch, And a wife who was also a step-mother. The honest three were approached by the FBI, And told to keep a very close eye, On these two wicked women, Who one would hardly call human! Their father tired about his wife Nagging about his wonderful children, All of their married life, Planned a plot together with his two loves’s Who were innocent, like 2 white doves To catch out this horrid woman, Who was hardly human. The FBI, said their father, will protect Us with drones, from above. And we also have God, Who is akin to having a squad Of eternal soldiers Our beholders! So off Hansel and Gretal were Taken into the forest, at the Stepmothers request, and at their Dad’s Request, took pebbles and dropped On the track, So that they could find their way back! Not successful, the stepmother persuaded Her husband to take them into the Forest again, the father was frustrated. His wife said they didn’t have bread to eat, How and why should the children get, Let’s cheat The wife said, take them to The woods to get lost No matter the cost! Overhearing her, Hansel took bread and let fall Crumbs on the track, but birds ate them all! Lost and afraid they didn’t know what to do, But they heard a drone overhead, And knew they wouldn’t land up dead. They found the witches house, made Of cookies and sweets, Immediately the wicked old witch, Came out and invited them in This was her ploy all along, her unforgivable sin, For which she would die, And this was certainly nigh! Unbeknown to the children, the FBI surrounded The house and camped there for as long As it took, They had this witch now, and observed every Move, and on a computer screen, Were so looking forward to capturing This criminal, this crook! The witch wanted to eat Hansel first, And tried feeding him to become fat, But Hansel too clever, stuck out a chicken bone, From the cage in which he was kept You’re too thin but I will eat you now, Gretal, who was responsible for home chores, Lit the oven, she had an idea how to say ciao To this wicked witch, who bent down To check the oven, At which point, Gretal pushed her in and slammed The oven door shut, How many children had died in that oven One, two, five or ten dozen? She ran to Hansel and let him out, As soon as they opened the door, soldiers Were round and about, They declared the old hag was dead, No need to check, But could the soldiers Please take them home instead! Hansel and Gretal were re-united with Their father, The stepmother, Had died, no further mention was made of her. Look Dad said the children, we found All these stolen jewels in the witch’s chest We can now buy a better house, And eat like kings, not only a little Like a mouse!
