Cleanse me, oh Lord of righteousness
Mend me, oh God of saving graciousness
Believe in me, so I can fly into your cage
Reflect on me, so I can sprout like sage

Swim to me as I drown in my tears again
Bless you as I float above where I've been
You are gentle and hardly angry, God Most High...oh, my heart cries...
So, forgive me once more for being a sinner that have told many lies

There is the truth beneath the lies
There is hellos behind the goodbyes
I want love and I always needed it too
I am not haunted by heaven above, true

I am held captive by my sorrow state
Sin has conquered me by awful fate
Your spiritual fruit and Holy Spirit sets me free...sets me free...
I have worn grief's suit and I will admit - I was not happy

Your spiritual knowledge lifts me up 
Your lovely liberation changes me up
Your Holy name shines in the depths of darkness and distress
My shame fades away the moment you gave me your gladness

Madness and chaos rules over the nights and days that I have solemnly seen
Sadness in all of us pulls us apart and gets us into fights that are so mean 
Relieve me of my scars and abominations, oh Lord of Great Accord
Grieve not for the wrongs that I've done due to temptations, my Wondrous Ward

Encompass me in encouraging words
Release me like caged-in, trapped birds
Give me passion enriched with delight
Give me compassion with all Your might

Cleanse me, oh Lord of righteousness
Mend me, oh God of saving graciousness
If it's Your Will for me to stay in this cage of uncanny capitivity,
Then I accept my fate and will remain waiting oh so patiently
Till You save me 
And believe in me

Reflect on me like waters below
And fix my wings of flight to soar
I will make sure to reap what I sow
I will look forward to hope in store

I'm sorry that I act like a burden to You
I'm sorry that I, once again, gave in to rue
I'm anxious beyond belief, so please...
Send me your virtuous relief at ease!

Cleanse me, oh Lord of righteousness
Mend me, oh God of saving graciousness
I want to be Your loyal friend and lamb
I need to belong and do Your Word till the end...God knows who I truly am...

Cleanse me of a filthy nature within...
Cleanse me of my one and only sin...
Arise, oh lowly spirits of the dead...my feet are like lead..
Enliven me, oh gracious God, and open up my eyes instead

Now, I believe there is truth beneath the lies
Somehow, I see the hellos behind the goodbyes
Mend me, oh God of everlasting, saving graciousness
Cleanse me of my perilous, painstaking unhappiness 

God told me in the dead of night:
Faith without works is dead, my dear child
Cleanse me with Your truth tonight
Calm down my human nature that's so wild
