Poem
The crowd crushed ruthlessly to the exit when darkness had fallen into disrepair Made way through a tunnel of gloom and abandoned him and his sunken feeling ‘Better to stay clear of his sadness it might be contagious and wrap us in sorrow’ ‘She is too young it must be all about sex’ ‘A gold digger she is and cannot you see’ ‘It will only last for three rampant months’ But when the going got rough the moon was eclipsed when the sun had faded Shone a hidden rainbow on the horizon to crush his crash like a teenage balloon Like first love only hotter building onto foundations of loneliness and lost dreams ‘Look at you like an adolescent in disguise’ ‘Just a fling flown into wayward winds’ ‘Baseless hormones a rash flash in the pan’ You must be Kim my name is Tim and drawn like a bee to her almond green eyes He knew where honey would grow and lands of milk trust and kindness beckoned Cinnamon smile vanilla bosom lavender scent and a bed full of red fragrant roses ‘Look at her thorns she’ll crush you’ ‘A vamp femme fatale will sting you’ ‘Seductress spewing her nubile charm’ He blushed when he caught first sight of adventure and what life would dispense Trillions of butterflies at gravity’s centre a myriad of glow worms shining a torch Lush symphony and flushes of princess’s lure and an angel dressed like a hippie ‘She’s a witch and a tempest’ ‘Temptation’s evil incarnation’ ‘Enchantment of devilish lure’ Her heart’s in the right place left right centre and Tim followed his nascent soul Swishes of light electric magnetic irresistible pull oozed from shape of her curves And brilliant mind’s compassion carved from misery moulded to intimate warmth ‘No words just yearning tenderness’ ‘My angel my treasure my lunar star’ ‘Our wet wild ocean and harbour’ The two crushing lovers play like innocent children gather shells on their beach Make love in the boudoir of receiving and according paint pastels on rich skies Crowds still please themselves yet some admire the sacred bond from afar ‘I love you my darling to the moon and beyond’ ‘I adore you and cherish your tender embraces’ ‘I still have a crush on you we cannot be crushed’ 12th April 2019 Written for the contest 'I'm Crushing on You' Sponsored by Julie Leigh Rodeheaver
