Poem

The curtain is drawn and the stage is bare, I stand alone,
As I hear the thunderous roar of the crowd that is now gone.

Reliving the excitement that is now a deafening quite,
As each scene is played over in my mind and I struggled to get each line out right.

Pretending to be someone else has always been quite easy for me,
Trying to give the world an illusion of someone perfect you see.

Sometimes living in a world of dreams is easier than the one called reality,
And onstage you hide all inhibitions and you can cut through formalities.

That is why being an actor or actress is a job so many choose,
Pretending to be someone else if only for a moment, how can you lose.

Some reach the top and are called superstars of this game,
While others who may even be better get no recognition or fame.

The same goes for those who live and breath the everyday life,
For some life seems so easy while others have nothing but torment and strife.

The ones that did well in acting are the ones that chose their parts well,
The same goes for the everyday people if you’ll listen to the story they tell.

So the point I’m trying to make is we all are playing out our part and this world is our
stage,
We’re either yesterdays news or tomorrows up and coming new rage.

Enjoy the spotlight and attention while you can it doesn’t last long,
And what doesn’t kill us will surely make us better and strong.
