I see on the news that some wish not to teach their children English, and this, to me, makes little sense, makes me wonder about the parents. Why, if you came here to live life, would you not speak like that tribe? Not communicate with others, not hear what they have to offer? English is the tongue of this land, to not speak it will hurt a man. How will you do business, hold a job? Your chance at success will be robbed. How will you go and make new friends, or with others go make amends? Such a path would just frustrate, far better to assimilate. I’ve also hear fool leftist words, tell folks to cling to old cultures, stick to what they have left behind, and pay America no mind. Any form of adaptation, they scream it’s ‘appropriation.’ Everything that defines you is a function of your ‘group.’ But if those cultures were so fine would folk really have left to find a place to live a better life? They come here ’cause we get it right. And America is built up on ideas from other cultures strong, the good ideas survive and thrive, the bad stuff we just leave to die. If you bring ideas that will work, they’ll get the limelight they deserve. ‘Cultures’ and ‘groups’ are not limit, your life is yours, go make it. Don’t listen to mindless rot, come add you flavor to the pot, Balkanization just brings hate, far better to assimilate. Some tell them not to believe in grand ideas that make us free, that the Constitution and our rights are not something for which to fight, tell immigrants that our mistakes are something we cannot escape, that all cultures are just the same, save us, we should get all the blame. That’s there’s no reason to extoll ideas that free you from control, but all of this is utter crap, any wise soul will realize that to mitigate mankind’s great flaws you need to live by rule-of-law, for the state to be legitimate the people have to vote for it, that to enjoy your one life time you must be free to speak your mind, that to protect your rights from harm you must be able to bear arms, to live in some sort of harmony we must elevate the family. The problems that have plagued all men, we’ve beaten again and again, the ideas that we have made real have given us the greatest deal. When immigrants themselves have seen that bad ideas bring misery, why cling to ideas that have failed? To countries from which you have bailed? When the ideas that make people great are yours when you assimilate.
