Poem
There was once, a boy named Jack, Who believed that Ghosts were imaginary.. He always boasted of his courage, to his friends.. Showed off by telling, 'Ghosts aren't scary'.. His luck, seemed to be on his side, As Ghosts didn't show him their face.. Whatever his friends challenged him to do, He obliged with an arrogant grace.. Haunted houses, cemeteries, asylums and parks, No matter where he was challenged, he stayed the night, Day by day his arrogance grew mighty.. And finally consumed all his fright.. Then, one day ,a friend dared him to stay, In a house haunted for generations. In exchange, he promised a handsome reward.. And Jack finally succumbed to his temptations.. The last time anybody heard from Jack, It was the night before he went to that place, Smiling confidently, he said he would return in the morning, And taking my cash, see the look on my face.. But, next day, when morning came and went, And Jack still could not be found, We started getting a little nervous, And decided to go there and take a look around.. On reaching the house, we searched it in and out, But, we couldn't find any presence of Jack, It seemed this Devil has devoured it's feast, And was waiting for it's next prey, to attack! We went to his house & talked to his mother, They haven't seen Jack for 2 days, Now, we were afraid and confused as to what had happened! And approached the police to solve this case.. The police search operations continued for a year, But it reaped no conclusive fact, They closed the case, declaring Jack as missing, Keeping that Monster's reputation intact.. Years after, when we friends met again, The mystery of Jack's disappearance came into discussion, It's strange and weird how a boy like Jack.. Vanished in thin air, like an apparition.. We wondered, if this mystery was ever going to be solved, And whether we'll get to know what happened to Jack.. Did he find something horrific that led to his demise? Or was this a serial killer's grand comeback? As i was returning home after the party ended, All I could think about was Jack's depart.. Poor fellow! He couldn't even live to see, Where I put his body to rot apart!!
