The Peter Principle II By Franklin Price 2/9/2015 (Edited 2/9/2019 The Peter Principle, alive and well Look at the government and you can tell A glance, once taken, at the House and Senate Leaves no doubt, the incompetence in it The administration fares the same With Congress will not play the game It takes the two to get things done So Congress not the only one Now throw in we voters too That's right I'm talking me and you Would only take a change of votes To out incompetence, rid us of goats Vote some in, if some are there, Who admit to fault, and in it share, Are not consumed by re-election Care for the nation, not their reflection We need to ask from our own face, “What can I do to help this place?” Stand up be counted, do what's right Into the darkness shed your light Two thousand-twenty will soon be here Our votes can change who will appear Don't need Peter Principles in again That will only continue the present sin I'm so mad, I want to shout Throw the hangers on, right out It's not too late to begin again Let's put some functionaries in I'll now get off my box of soap Your vote can get results from hope Your vote can change this sad refrain If you don't vote, then don't complain 2020 will be upon us before we know it Googled defintion of Peter Principle the principle that members of a heirarchy are promoted until they reach the level at which they are no longer competent ( author's note – you may substitute promoted with promoted/elected)
