BYPASS SURGERY

It’s really quite amazing what can be done today
To heal our human bodies from ailments in the way.
I had some serious blockage that needed a repair,
And quickly they determined what I would need in there.
The surgeon worked so skillfully to clear a brand new way
So my heart could work better when I awoke that day.
But now I lay here thinking:  that operation then
Was much like of another that saved me from my sin.
My heart was blocked from heaven with sin and sad despair,
I called the Great Physician to heal me of it there.
He made a “bypass surgery” to separate my sin
From His memory forever and came to live within.
That surgeon who worked wisely with my heart on that day
Reminds me of my Savior who took my sin away.
That work he did to fix me from blockage in my heart
Reminds me of the wonder of grace God did impart.
It’s really quite amazing what doctors now can do,
But even more amazing what God can do for you!
If your heart has sin’s blockage, you only need to pray,
“Oh, Jesus, now I trust You, please take my sin away.”
You need no anesthetic or surgeon’s cutting knife
To take away that blockage there in your heart and life.
You only need to trust in the Great Physician’s power
To do that “bypass surgery” in your life now this hour.
