Poem
The devil wears a suit and has a thick old wallet Holds himself higher than the rest of the world He sits in an office and makes up excuses For reasons why others shouldn’t share of the gold He pulls all the strings and makes the decisions He alters the rules as he then sees them fit He scares you with choices, but says for the better In all honesty, he is nothing, but an educated twit Alone in his tower, I hope he falls from one day He’ll never have what we possess, though he desires But, since he can’t have, he makes our lives hell And condemns us to his world amidst all the fires Oh yes, all his minions, those who climb all his ladders They do all his bidding as their consciences fade But I, though employed for the need to support family, Can hold my head high by the choices I made I will not let devils, in suits, take possession I will not and can not let them have me Though they can fire me, truly, at any moment They’d be doing me a favor, cause then I’d be free And to all those devils that tried to then have me I say, go to hell and take all your minions with you For all of your power is just worthless dribble-drabble For my power gets stronger with all that I choose You see, you’re defeated when my head is held high Integrity and honesty are two things you can’t own In fact, you are nothing without all your minions The kiss ups that don’t know that their lives are gone So, when you sit back in leather, with some brandy To think that you’re at the pinnacle of success Think again, because of those that are like me We’ll inherit the kingdoms and be the ones blessed
