Poem

I write because I am searching
For what was never lost
Does not everything in life
Come at its own cost
Sometimes the cost is small
Other times it's great
It's always best to show up early
Rather then drag in late
I have seen the richest men
Men who have no soul
To them the only thing that matters
How big is your pile of gold
Sometimes life is easy
Other times it's hard
There is no better feeling on earth
Then stepping up off the prison yard
Freedom is a special thing
Especially once it's lost
For it takes alot of fortitude
To ever pay the cost
I put alot of effort
Into what I write
As the Lord motivates me
To share with you my plight
I have gained alot of things
Just by living right
At the top of the list
Is my friends on this site
You have helped me grow and change
You helped teach me how to learn
In my soul you lit a fire
And I love the way it burns
So I wrote this little poem
Just to let you know
You are all dear to my heart
And I do love you so
You have shown me I'm not alone
For I am part of group
A very special group of friends
Known as poetry soup
