Predictions work in twists of what makes life workable High and often misconstrued by the dogma of science Lies and damned lies and statistics for the insecure Foes foretold surprise when the blindfolds shed masks In the light of darkness mascara and games people play Tim’s Persona crumbles in silent pantomime and retreat Always expect the unexpected when perfection looms In imperfect strands where blinkers insinuate the truth Tim is no stranger to holding his own and protects Narratives projects drama and seems ahead of play While misaligned misperceptions fissure at the guise Essence derives not from chess boards’ checkered moves Onto which shutters are closed and hang dithered in threads As they exude the rancid smell of droppings and worms Sweet perfumed uncertainty embraces his complex intriguing mind Of withering constructs conjectures and blossoming refutation ‘What if all my promising steadfast premises are incorrect’ It finally beckons ‘what if and if not conjunctions divert’ Tim meets with doubt at the heart of existence and opens A door just slightly merely turning some hinges and the Whole house of cards and hot poker pierces him in straight In blinding ocular motion and settles on third eye’s precognition He thinks again and therefore he seems to ‘Cogito ergo sum’ And yet the sum of all parts coils in widening curves Makes him speechless in awe of his ignorant knowledge Fibonacci Spirals enlighten a Golden Mean of reason And emotion but the constant remains that he still cannot Factor every quarter turn and half screwed resistance But it does not matter why kindness trust faith and the power Of natural causes supersede arrested insanity and delusion Dreams and aspirations of Royal Flushes succumb to epiphany A bit like Archimedes in his bathtub washed clean of flotsam And jetsam the same and Tim quietly whispers Eureka while Nevertheless he feels like a newly born Hermit of Tarot He does not pretend to have any clue how the Universe manages To guide him once Chronos open the cracks towards Kairos Of opportune time and significance to discard his self-assured Demons and treasons of the Past as the moment unfolds Future Lo and not Beheld Tim emerges after all his devious shackles Stray to fall at the wayward wayside hitting the center of All An unquestioned life is one not worthy of living at all while The inquest of cross examinations continues step by weary step And enquiry is the only valid reliable answer and loyal companion A New Year message written on December 26th 2018 Dedicated to Professor Emma Ruttkamp-Bloem of Pretoria University who opened my eyes and Universe
