Light da Roman candles
for da coming Chariots of Pharaoh holiday
Dem New Publicans
be back in pyramid power
Give a Caesar Palace casino hip, hip-hooray

Happy daze are here again!
Dem New Publicans bray 
dey be da common people’s friend

But dey double talk a lot:
selling cadaver conservative values
in liberal sepulchre plots
Promising ta put a chicken in ev’ry pot,
no matter if ya ain’t got 
one to piss in

Dem New Publicans be just donkey giving
mo’ old Re-publican squawk — 
Patronizing pachyderm gobble talk
Chirping jive turkey messaging: 
saying dey gon fix da housing projects up,
no matter how homeless ya been
Talking outta both sides of dey mouth,
Dem New P’s sound just like da old Re-publicans

A miserable friend of da po’ is once again in power ...
at least fo’ a little while
Da vote dreamers bray a bleating pray dis dancing hour

Dem new guys (and me-too gals, of course)
are gonna go counter-culture clockwise
On a progressive tangent, dey say — 
giving us unfettered Gomorrah freedom
Dat broken chain of decadent, debt-spending liberty, 
Dem New Publicans borrowed credit lay on us,
(tho’ da bill don’t come right away)
our future gen children gon have ta posterity pay

And sista souljah, believe me ...
Legionnaire usury is a hard taskmaster
come tear tax collection day

But don’t worry ‘bout dat tribute problem ta-day!

Go throw a Roman toga party;
pour da whine freely ... spill yo’ guts,
speak yo’ vineyard peace
Stomp yo’ protest feet ... raise yo’ voice in drunken reverie

Fo’ equality sake, tell da New a-maize-n-P’s,
how ya cast out dat cowardly old crop
Da scarecrow ones with da tin hearts, who said:
the po’ don’t need no mo’ welfare ease
While dos greedy, piggy toe fat cats let da rich mice
gorge on green piles of subsidy cheese

Now, Dem New Publicans profess dey 
wanna Gulliver hear  
what da little people gotta Lilliputian say
While dey skim mo’ than a weasel tad off da top
of da milk money revenue tray
Dem six fingers gon single-handedly
be crawling up da side pockets,
snatching saved pennies hard earned ev’ryday

But don’t worry ‘bout dat, okay! 
Put dem troublesome thoughts out of yo’ mind,
at least fo’ a little while anyway

Da pleb people wanna celebrate dis day,
taste some temporary ballot victory

and be coin bag running things

in da dark Ivory House ... get dos lights back on working  
And repair dat divided empire Wall,
what dim old Re-publicans left tax-cut broken
