Poem
In a cold world on a hot day, I come home and relax. Yes, 98 degrees outside. I turn on the ac and lay across my bed to take a nap. The beauty of the natural light shines upon me for I am a "Sleeping Beauty." In a cold world on a hot day there is movement in time all across the world - Noise, traffic, interviews, meetings, laughing, crying, talking, playing, eating... In a cold world on a hot day, life experiences can consist of - allegation, termination, discrimination, sexual violation, disaster devastation, corrupt legislation, White House investigation, miscommunication, trials and tribulations, wrongful incarceration... Is it a curse? Nothing to rehearse, we are left to converse in a diverse universe, ugly, mean, hateful, vindictive, cruel, yet somewhere out there is another loveable, happy, caring person that is the change of the world. Is it me? Is it you? What is it about you? Look within yourself. Look within your heart. Are you that one? The positive one. The one that can change the world with a smile, with a prayer, with a hug, with words of encouragement, with compassion, with patience, with love... I believe I am, I believe you are. Together we can add warmth to this cold world, one person at a time, one day at a time. To the world - The Lord's prayer begins by saying, "Our Father," which means He is not just for me, He is not just for you. "Our Father" sees us and all that's going on around the world and many days He is deeply saddened. Black, white, rich, poor, young, old, male, female... In God's eyes, none of us is no better than the other. For we were all created by One, for One, as One. To the Lord - Continue to heal us Lord, help up Lord, strengthen us Lord, forgive us Lord. Keep us covered, guide our steps and guard our tongue. Let there be no bitterness, anger, jealously, hatred, envy... among us. Father, You created us to fulfill Your will and purpose, not self purpose. Thank You Father for giving us another day and another chance to get it right. Please continue to lead us and show us the way when we tend to stray. With that being said, I will continue to pray for world unity, world happiness, world love and God’s peace for the world.
