Summer magic, Winter delight, Spring fresh, and beautiful Fall. The diverseness of the assorted seasons tends to delight us. Each has its own ambiance and nuances, after all. Some years they arrive with less fuss and muss. Summer is full of anticipated vacation water play. Spring I genuinely and wholeheartedly look forward to every day. Winter seems harsh with its frozen glass-like harshness, but is beautiful. Fall is lively, and fun, fat juicy pumpkins grow so plentiful, The seasons are smart, and delightfully sassy in their own way, If choosing is mine, I must be so truthful and dutiful. The beauty of Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall takes my breath away. Each season mysteriously, vicariously hilariously unique, Artists paintings prove, there are no two alike, each one its own kind, When insistent, when an answer is demanded, how does one compare or critique? Like comparing creatures, or sunsets, or beaches, all beauty from God’s own mind. Summer play brings to mind frolicking and laughing, horseplay, beachwear and sand. Spring’s renewing buds, mushrooms, tulips, and lilacs are always quite grand. Winter means scarves, muffins, mittens, and flavored coffee cappuccino time. Autumn’s leaves, in gold, brown, reds and yellow, I jump in and claim for mine. Mighty seasons four are delightfully unique, inspiring new kinds of play. Each one glorious in his or her own right, and loved by those they dazzle and enshrine. The beauty of Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall takes my breath away. Ice of Winter, Ocean of Summer, Rejuvenation of Spring and squirrely Fall. Order is important to some, but does not matter to me as you can plainly see. Winter with her whiteness and cold, inspires the practice of basketball, Autumn football, means my linebacker granddaughter is a delight to thee. Spring’s daffodils, the leaders of the flower brigade, triumphantly coax Other greenery to know the fifty-five-degree spring air is not a hoax. Summer finds many of us reading a juicy romance novel, while lying on the beach, Some of us caravan to hot Georgia, where we can enjoy a good peach. No matter the season, no matter how gloriously sunny, or how gloomy, dark or gray, Or how much consternation or imagination a few minutes of the day does beseech, The beauty of Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall takes my breath away. Winter blizzards, Fall hayrides, Spring planting, and the sloth-like days of Summer. They follow along, year by year, without any prodding, seasons mixed, and seasons matched. Lovely in their diversity and arrogance, each a winner, none a bummer. As they storm in and out, their unique stories rise unbidden, some old, some newly hatched. Some are shocking, some are there just to scare, some make us happy, some make us sad. We collect seasonal stories, feelings abound, making each season cheerfully glad. Summer Magic cannot take away Winter’s wonderland magic - sparkly, not dour. Spring’s heartfelt growing does not take away Fall’s glory of its ample produce shower. Summer in June, borrows a bit from Spring as it seems to begin at the end of May, Winter holds us captive with its beautiful snow, and fall is known for maize bower. The beauty of Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall takes my breath away. Each season has his or her own dress, their own uniquely seasonal way to be. Glorious seasons, each being itself, arriving slowly, most of the times. So much variety to appreciate, remember, retain, expect, and foresee. Spring whirls in swiftly grabbing our hearts, bringing rain, ringing metallic beaded chimes. Winter sneaks up on us so fast some of us poets can barely keep our wits about us. Summer warms up our faces, freckling and browning us lavishly with no fuss. Fall brings witches, goblins, pumpkins, and Thanksgiving to our imagination’s midst. They are all wonderful, and to choose one I could not no matter how much you insist. Luckily I can enjoy each wonderful season in its own special way. With the happy-go-lucky enthusiasm of the youngest of my grandkids. The beauty of Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall takes my breath away.
