Poem
I found a pecan on the ground I picked it up when no one was around Sitting in the hall outside of class crying because her classmates were teasing and talking about her. The student didn't want to go back in the class, I stopped, talked and comforted the girl. We went into the class and I spoke to the students about the effect of how hurtful words can be and how they can be better classmates towards each other. I found a pecan on the ground I picked it up when no one was around One question caused my co-worker to have an emotional breakdown. I brought him into my office. He cried and cried and cried out to me. He cheated, his wife found out and then she cheated. The wife invited the other man into the home. The two men fought. His wife said she didn't want him and she didn't love him no more. He cut his wrist and tried to commit suicide, he couldn't handle it any more. I talked to him for over an hour. I told him God has a purpose for your life. I continued to encourage and comfort him with the words I had to say, he dried his eyes and thank You God, he's still alive today. I found a pecan on the ground I picked it up when no one was around One day a friend came to me and asked me to pray for her husband. I immediately grabbed her hands and we began to pray. She was crying because her husband was diagnosed with a condition. He was hurting and often in pain and she was angry with God for taking her parents. I told her she needed to start praying and tell God how she is feeling. I also told her to mend her relationship and get it back right with God. I encouraged and comforted her with the words I had to say and in order for things to change, prayer was the only way. I found a pecan on the ground I picked it up when no one was around After getting gas, I saw a lady holding a baby at the bus stop. She looked to me like she was in distress. God spoke to me and told me to give her a ride. When she got in the car, she told me she was going by her sister's house. She took whatever clothes she could and had just left her boyfriend. She was totally fed up with him and the abuse she was dealing with. I took her to get something to eat. We sat and talked and talked. We held hands and prayed. I encouraged her with the words I had to say, I dropped her off by her sister and then went on my way. God continues to speak through me, direct me and guide my steps. He allows me to pick up hurting pecans, and as I do so, the branches continue to grow on my Pecan Tree.
