NFL - National Football League

Football allows the world and fans to witness historical moments in time.
I am from New Orleans, home of the New Orleans Saints. Our historical moment in time came when we were able to endure and overcome defeat with triumph as we became the "Who Dat Nation" bringing home the Superbowl Championship in 2009. For the last 40 years the world was able to watch the transformation.
Our team went from boys to men
From tears to cheers, from bags to riches
From worst to first, from believing to achieving
From reject to respect, from playing in the cold
To winning the Superbowl!

Also recently, the world witnessed another historical moment on Monday night primetime as Drew Brees became the NFL's all-time leading passer.

For a moment in time when all else goes wrong in the world, football has a way of enlightening and uplifting one's attitude and emotions. It is a medical conditioned sport and can be a temporary cure, because on game day, you will focus little to no attention on whatever may be ailing you.

Football also produces great cardio for fans. There's a lot of sitting, standing, jumping up and down, raising arms for hi-fives and bending (to get beers out the cooler). I'm not sure, but there may have been a time or two where one may have almost went into cardiac arrest.

Football supplements a city's income. People spend more, drink more and eat more. It also brings togetherness and fun, because best believe there is a party going on somewhere. There are tailgating parties, house parties, sports bar parties, after parties and more and we can admit, we do love a good party!

For a moment in time, football increases our prayer time. We pray for our team when they travel. We pray we make the field goal. We pray the other team misses. We pray our numbers hit on the football pool. We pray before the game begins, we pray during the game and last but not least, we pray we win!

Football has saved many marriages because even when the season is over, the husband still enjoys playing Madden and the wife enjoys just knowing he is home.

So for the good, the bad, the ups, the downs, the controversies, the wins, the losses... When it's all said and done, football has so many memorable moments in time.

In closing I would like to say "Thank You" to the NFL for being the #1 sport that has brought a Beacon of Light not only to my city, but to so many others.
