Poem

Floating in the air I fill nothing nor am I scared,
 the thoughts that run across my mind,did I see or was I blind,
  from childhood to yesterday, I did it with dignity I did it my way,
    I was true to myself,I lived loved and never turned away to help,
        I loved to watch my kids smile,loved when I held my wife a while,
          as a smile crosses my face,...that was life that I embraced,
            now as I paved my road and fixed my heart, will it be easy now you know this part?

I never seen it coming I was struck from behind,around 3:36 am are so was the time,
 a peaceful day are that is what I thought, I just heard a loud noise then it stopped,
   dose my wife know she was my one and only,that my love for her wasn't phony,
     did I teach my kids to know, life was their's and that this is now their show,
       will they be all right with out me here, do they all know did I make it clear,
          not the fear change take a chance, live love hold your head high and dance,
            we are who we want to be, and all the time we shared passes through me,

THUD! I've fallen hitting the ground, I can not here not one sound,
 my eyes stay open as it's the street I see, warm blood pours and surrounds me,
   I never seen this coming, my life would end on this early morning,
     as the dust settled and lights appear, they try to talk to me asking "can you hear,"
        I tried to speak but it was as if I couldn't, I tried to move but my body wouldn't,
          as I felt nothing and a chill filled the air, to leave now, my kids my wife it's
not fair,
             then with out warning it all stopped.....,
