Poem
And on the seventh day, God descended from the brilliant abyss called heaven. He wanted to rest, but He had to view what He had created so He could memorize His good works. It was, after all…the final day of His creation. He recalled day ONE- _____________________ It was when He created heaven and earth. God exclaimed, “Heaven shall be a place of joy. There shall be no tears cried, nor fear felt. It will be surrounded by golden pillars and white monuments. I shall dwell here, for it will be My home.” The sphere filled with air was called earth. It will carry life endlessly. Everything in His sight was more beautiful than He could’ve ever envisioned. He thought of day TWO- _____________________ It was when the sky became azure and filled with hope with majestic ivory clouds resting high, almost touching heaven. “The sky shall never fall. For it will hold up the earth so that it may never crumble”, God stated. An atmosphere is found on this day and moisture will permeate and satisfy earth. He remembered day THREE- ______________________ It was when continents, islands and waters were made. “For the large bodies of water are to be called “seas”, and the grounds are named “lands”. The lands were places tenderly above the waters. On these hills and valleys life shall be colonized. The formation of countries and states will be founded by many”, God enunciated with pride. He recollected day FOUR- _____________________ It was when he created the stars and heavenly bodies. The space between heaven and earth shall allow man to track time. “The first great body of formation is the primary source of light called the “sun”. The second is the source of darkness. It is named the “moon”," God pronounced. Embracing the sun and moon were heavenly bodies called “stars” that distinguished day from night. He reminisced on day FIVE- ______________________ It was when He created all creatures that live in the water and the sky. God affirmed with eagerness, “eagles shall soar over the heights of mounts and reptiles shall swim; dolphins flip and whales cry. These creatures shall inhabit the earth for eternity and make the world more astounding and renown.” He pondered on day SIX- ___________________________ It was when the most important part of creation was made --- MAN. He made a single man in His image and knew that He would love him deeply. He knew that in creating him, the earth would soon be full of many more, and they would be called, “mankind”. God professed, “I feel honor and perpetual passion to care and show mercy to all who follow Me and praise Me with glory. Mankind is going to be My greatest accomplishment.” He looked at the man and said, “for you are my son and I shall love you for all time. Devote your life to me and you shall find peace in heaven when you perish. I shall name you “Adam”.” Now here He was...on day SEVEN. After He memorized the beautiful works of the artisan masterpiece He created, He swam in the seas with the creatures of the waters. He arose onto the dry land keeping the venerated animals company. He enjoyed the birds the most, for they were free and honorable. They kept ascending up and down from the soft clouds. He adored them, for it filled Him with dignity and reverence. He did these things for twelve hours and decided it was time to go and meet the man he created out of pride and joy. Then He saw him--- Adam. God ran up to Adam and enveloped him in an embrace so mighty and tight that he felt love and affection wash over him. He looked at Adam and said, “my son, you are created from My image and you shall be pure and immaculate. Unsullied are you and you shall be lonely not, very soon." He spent eleven hours with Adam exhibiting His artistry and enjoying good conversation. They talked about what life will be like and God gave him ideas on how to spend time with the creatures. They laughed and ate fruit from trees and drank water from the seas. On hour twenty-three God said farewell to Adam and ascended into the magnificent sky reaching heaven where He created all these splendid illustrations forming “life”. This took Him but one hour. On hour twenty-four, He said in heaven with pride, “for I am at ease and content with the beginning of existence, and I shall protect and guard it with all that I am.” “I am the Creator of marvelous heaven and earth- the righteous Father, bestowing love and mirth.” *sorry this is so long, but I really enjoyed your contest* What Did God Do on the Seventh Day?
