Every child that is born gets a slice of God's heart, But a fetus can't have one; You sure you're so smart? Though some folks disagree (do quote Bible verse too), Are they liars and frauds who call elephant snake? Or just blind, dumb, or lazy? Its trunk is their take, One small part of a whole! Is truth ever their goal? Claim to be Christian? Well, Mercy's the heart of God's word, For abortions were well known to Christ. It's absurd The gyrations you fake! Are you spawn of the snake That plagued Eden as well? Don't put words in Christ's mouth! Or it could be your lost soul is headed straight south! You who stone the least sin? There's so much to take in! Here's how I see it! A puzzle, you might want to clear? If abortion's flat wrong, God's 'mass murderer' dear! Evolution as plan frames observed fate of man! Doesn't Science, God's gift, SO REWARD what man learns? For it blesses the seeker, makes straight twists and turns, And if death’s fate of all! Where's the link to man's fall! God is perverse?! What the Hell? Should Beasts suffer like Man? Did the Bible's male authors not grok 'Big Bang’s' plan? Evolution says pain can lead man towards fresh gain! Is it possible ‘tell’ that God calls His work good? (1) But one bite from an apple can trash neighborhood? No ‘Fall’ needed (just dearth) to explain ‘life’ on earth! (2) Poetry’s voice is one path that men use to assuage But its beauty, though treat, can’t mean God’s on our page Though we think we’re at choice, the truth's always God’s voice! I’d say ‘Science’ (God’s gift) is one path we should take, If we’d honor God’s spirit, not make a mistake! And when faith can agree, then I think we’re home free! Science paves path to the stars, God to what lies beyond, If man honors them both, then they both will respond! You’ll be doubly blessed, massive weight off your chest! Christ says, ‘Honor my works and do greater than these! When you ask in my name, you don’t need to say please!” (3) An extension of God! Guide the world! Be Christ’s rod! (4) Long Tooth September 21, 2018 Poet’s Notes: (1) Genesis I: "And God saw that it was good!" (2) In modern science a kind of beauty, a suggestion of truth even is suggested when one theory of reality that is simple seems to explain things better than a competing theory that is more complicated. This approach seems to me to be a healthy way to approach understanding the Bible as well! (3) John 14:12-14 New International Version (NIV) 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (4) In the 23rd Psalm the poet says "Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me." Christ is the "good Shepard," and his rod is not used to punish His sheep but to lead them to greener pastures. God is not like our earthly parents, and His loving intention is always our welfare!
