Poem
You can try your might You can run all night What's done in the dark will come out in the light It can be messy Pathetic Distorted Corroded Be ready to flight But what's done in the dark always comes out in the light Literal and proverbial For the truth shines bright like fresh cold air touching the warm skin Like a baby screaming under fluorescents Even thru the depression And anything that's suggesting a different direction Like going left when things ain't right But what's done in the dark comes out in the light What's done in the shadows never seems to last Unless it's your own shadow you cast That causes a dead spot in the grass There's always evidence Like volcanic ash Hand clasped Fist in the air Holding on for dear life because only so often Doing wrong is the only thing that's right But not tonight Gods gonna cut you down But not before my hand picks up And drop this crown Hoodie up Gloves on Timbs laced and bandana in place And erase The one simple mistake of all the time I put to waste Carving out of your carcass the rib that was giving from the man sitting on height But what's done in the dark comes out in the light But instead I write Because legally it isn't considered right So I scribble my dribble upon this electronic pad While my eyeballs clasp to the tears that are wiped away by my fury My heart being judge and jury Actions colaberating fully Asshole is the name given willfully And silly am I to think this is just a phase When is it that at a certain age you hold accountable for your actions When is it Because I missed that ticket of admission So I can pass yours to your provision But what's done in the dark comes out in the light So this chant I will recite In order to deflect the reflect of shyt that just ain't right Here and now And even in hindsight But that was your ultimatum And duct tape won't fix this relation that's on the precipice of fading Even with my will so strong Proving the doctors wrong Proving the police wrong Proving America wrong about black father's being gone And idiotic people being ding dongs believing the lies told And here I stand Knees crumbling Tummy rumbling Mind fumbling Appetite vomiting the tears of my soul But what's done in the dark comes out in the light So I regress into myself and write About what's right Until all that's shaded be exposed to the shine of the bright Hot Never fading Light..........peace
