Poem

i once dreamed of happiness
of rainbows and true love
that was many years ago
now all i dream is sadness

silent sleep as time drags on
nightmare thoughts fill my brain
scaring even hero's and the brave
left to wonder what lyes beyond

closed my heart to the pain
sorrow and disappointment
now will fill my heart
and what is left is nothing to gain

sleepless night
the dreadful dreams are in full flow
tired eyes begin to close
no way to stop until it's light

tick ,tick , tick chimes the clock
constant sound fills the house
yet it is not enough to keep it at bay
so i sit and stare at closed locks

when will the wait be finally be over
how will i keep the nightmares away
where have my dreamless sleeps gone
i need the luck of a four leave clover

i keep myself busy when there asleep
tidying and cleaning is the way
just to keep the nightmares at bay
to tired to even sit and weep

i need the help of others at hand
support, someone to fall back on
but who is there to call
who will even understand

tired tears begin to fall
who is there to hear
my despair is lost in the air
no ones there at all

morning breaks through the sky
bleary eyed yet fall of joy
dragged about through the rest of the day
time goes quickly before it is nigh
