Sun still down so am I
4:30 in the morning
The SADNESS OF A CLOWN
Playing songs in my mind
Feeling like crying barely have tears

I'm scared I'm missing out on life
Searching skies for that silver lining 
I should be chasing my dreams 
Don't feel as if I'll take one more
Platinum step on that concrete ground

All I can write is the blues is all that
I'm used to. I've been given clues to.
I refused to be happy because I've
Painted a  portrait of  myself in
SHAdes of blue, I didn't measure 

By caution, didn't have to. 
I abused this mirror leaving it
Half blue.  Sadness forever
Escaped me. The only time I felt
Summer breeze was on a rainy day.

Never did I see a rainbow come 
Out to play.  A melody real 
Slow and long. I breathed a sigh of Relief
My breath was strong as I watched  the
Sun appear from beneath the horizon

I belonged somewhere that somewhere was here 
The brighter side of the rays. I belonged melodies
Burst from me fully free of those shades of blue
