Poem

Football, 
it tests your faith, 
it makes you pray, 
it plays out lessons
and thousands sing along. 
It will teach sportsmanship and respect, 
it inspires healthiness and clean living.
Clubs sit in the heart of the community, 
millions attend each weekend. 
It makes you happy, 
it makes you cry,
but both bring people together.
It creates a conversation between strangers all over the world. 
Those that attend or follow, fund the game, just like religion,
but unlike religion in the summer it goes away. 
Football is the religion that's real, 
it unites people all over the world, 
football has done what no religion could do, 
unite billions without fear, guilt, or preach,
freedom it breeds, they freely choose a team,
religions war and bleed, actions of no dream.
Common in both is greed,
but football won't tell you what you need,
whereas the told need in religion feeds its greed.
One creates memories to treasure,
one an excuse to fight wars forever.
Both are man made by god made man,
but with football there is freedom, 
no rules, no demands, no wars for lands,
just thousands of strangers, free, as one in the stands.

Football is one with humanity and humanity is one with football.

Football is bigger than Jesus.
