Poem

Wishing I was home,
In my easy chair all alone,
No one near to bother me,
No worry or stress, my mind is free.

But here I am at work,
Having to smile at some jerk,
Between us there is no love,
Someone I’d love to be free of.

My body is at my desk,
But my mind is on a quest,
To be on a beach in Belize,
Watching a sunset in a cool breeze.

In a beautiful sunlit land,
With a Pena Colada in my hand,
Arm in arm with a beautiful girl,
Away from my suffocating work world.

So if I appear to be staring off into space,
My mind is in a beautiful place,
Not bothered with nonsense any more,
Basking on that distant tropical seashore.
