Poem

Outside in my hammock between two trees
a rogue large bee kept flying by me
sitting up I rubbed my two eyes in disbelief
noticing he would strip wood off and fly away like a thief

Watching him was really quite surreal
as he got out his hammer, saw and nails
using my porch patio as his workplace
I noticed his urgency as if in a race

Buzzing and sawing his strips of wood and bark
hammering and nailing until it was dark
finally my curiosity got the best of me
and risked getting stung to better see

The bee seemed to stand back and admire
his new tiny house for the bees that he would sire
suddenly a female bee appeared showing love that was so bold
as the male carpenter bee swept her up carrying her over the threshold

A month later they're tiny bee house was now full
of tiny carpenter bees right outside my window sill
the house was cute but the noise downright loud
as Mr and Mrs carpenter bee were now a proud Mom and a Dad

Armed with protective layers of clothing and using a net
I picked their tiny house up and knew they were upset
relocating them to the forest I think they finally understood
as they flew out of their tiny home admiring all the woods
