Poem
Wrote this when a friend told me a story about going to see some kittens and falling in love with the nasty runt who had been hidden in a cupboard With runny eyes and patchy fur, resemblant of a skunk Not much difference, either way, for both of them, they stunk Stalking in his little cupboard, the dark and lonely hole Was ugly little runt of litter, the cat that had no soul Ugly little runt of litter, just loved to hiss and cuss To spit his venom and slash out wild, not a loving puss He spat and slashed and cursed and snarled, at everything and all Until the day he saw big Frank, standing there so tall Big Frank, he could not help himself, he had to love that cat But ugly little runt of litter, was having none of that He slashed and snarled and swiped and cussed until the blood did flow Big Frank was thinking of the Clash, “should I stay or should I go” Ugly little runt of litter, his mindset, all out war Chased big Frank around the room, slashing with his paw Love he did not contemplate, love he did not know Big Frank was thinking of the Clash, “should I stay or should I go” But over days and over weeks, a relationship, did form With interspattered bouts of peace amongst the crazy storm Big Frank, did stroke his little cat, wearing inch thick oven mitts While little cat wreaked revenge by slashing them to bits Ugly little runt of litter, with snotty nose and smell Decided that he liked Big Frank, cos he could give him hell So he slashed and cussed and hissed and clawed, his way through life with Frank Sleeping like a tiger, in his cubby hole, in the darkness and the dank.
