Poem
What kind of a man am I? What kind of a Man are you? A beast or a man of the soil? There was a time when a man raised his hand, clinched a fist to show a sign of the fight against the oppression of the man of color When he raised his voice to shout through his lungs “Freedom is a right for all Human Beings” When he raised his feet marching in the streets to show anger against the ill treatment of the man of color When he picked up stones an throw them at the forces that favored the ill treatment of the man of color A time when a man was Rock and a cornerstone of a household A time when a man had the ability to bring about positive change to a Neighborhood filled with malice A time when a man’s voice was the pillar of strength and the restorer of Hope Now a man has become a viscous beast untamed and detached Like a pit bull braking bone to its marrow with its teeth, man’s fists have become weapons of mass destruction not only braking bones but braking the hearts of woman and children with viscous attacks The oppression, domination and persecution that the man of color had gone through has now undergone transformation The cries and the tears that fall to the ground are of woman and children who seek Love, Protection and Refuge from man Africa as a Mother gave birth to man of the soil, whose natural basic instinct is to Love, Build and Protect I am ashamed of a man who brings harm to woman and children and still has the decency to call himself a Man A Nation can never stand when a man keeps braking down the pillars that hold the nation up, The Pillars that hold the nation up can never be strengthened when the source of their strength is their destructive force A house can never be a home when the man of the house is a viscous beast and like a viscous beast man has become weak and pathetic his fists are never aimed at target mightier than him If my hands my arms my legs and my voice can’t be used to bring hope then they’re of no used to me best I be castrated and my organs thrown into a pit filled with beasts that feed on raw meat If my hands my arms my legs and my voice cannot be used to bring about positive change then they are of no use to me best I be castrated and my organs thrown into a pit filled with beasts that feed on raw meat The ability to bring Hope, Encourage, Build, Protect, Provide and Love defines a man Like the book of Ephesians5 commands “Man Love your Wives" Man Love your Woman Man love! Love Defines a Man
