Hearts burning with desire
Minds awash with dreams and aspirations
Eyes wishing from normal life to retire
Ears primed to hear inspirational orations 

Delivered at a pacey rate
To a receptive audience
Minds desperate 
To get with mischief in silence

So loud it brings down the roof
Where a motley of minds gathers
Seeking tangible proof
In matter that bothers

Youths in search of identity
Lost in substance abuse
Confused by a nonentity
To get loose

Swill vats of cheap beer
Escorted by puffs of weed
Path forward unclear
Nonentity plants a seed

That youths leads astray
Feeling like Gargantuas but in reality midgets
Who refuse for consecutive moments to pray
With a sage who fidgets 

Urging them to stop exploring fleshpot events
Much as they delight the body
That grow weary of dwelling in tents
Where may pop in anybody

With a nosy penchant
To sniff a malaise
Granting a chant
A mnemonic phrase

That signifies nothing of value
In sane circumstances
With neither clue nor hue
To measure safe distances

From sanity to insanity
Brought about by life in trenches
Where no room for vanity
Exists that wrenches

Can no longer tighten
To restore previous mental states
Which in the process may frighten
Prospects that vie for great tastes.
