Poem
I’ve been programmed to believe in your unstable, callous ways I’ve been a monarch butterfly, soaring through the fields these days I want you to release the tension from my heart of captivity's vanity I want you to make me believe…I don’t want you to leave honestly I don’t know where to go…I don’t know… But, I am falling in the deep abyss The unknown reduced me to woe…woe… Help me, I’m helplessly hopeless… Show me your wings and mend mine too Know that I still believe in You…only in You I’ve been led astray by selfish gain all over again Believe me, just believe me…I am an inkless pen Without you…here… I need to hold you dear So, give me a chance To offer you deliverance… You’re in my remembrance… A cherished elegance…a precious fragrance… Beyond my own…you are never alone… Grace is far from my reach I am a sea without its beach Hear me out as I sing aloud I am modest, yet I am proud That I am alive and surviving So undone, I’ve been arriving I’m an incomplete masterpiece I am a chaos that’s lacking peace I need space to recollect myself I am a prized toy, left on the far left shelf I’ve been programmed to fall for your tricks and gimmicks You will never get my drift…unless you are in my shoes You’re like a cold-hearted castle wall with pure plastic bricks Your gravity isn’t much of a lift…rather, it’s ancient news I didn’t say for you to leave so soon I didn’t intend you to shine like the moon I didn’t mean to leave you in the dust this time The time is up for us as the past clusters grime If humans had wings, I’d be out of here way sooner If we could be together with no issues, I’d be happier You put all of me to shame and it makes me hurt oh so awfully You always saw me, transforming from a worm to a butterfly You can’t put ice on my wound like you always do…so true… You’re blood that I taste on my tongue, sickly sweet like you What appears to be an ugly scar…somehow... I gave you far too many chances now You think you truly know me, think twice I’m not the one, paying the ultimate price I haven’t got over the fact that I miss the old you The strange new you is extremely unbearable and frightening It’s as if you lived your whole life without a clue You were original and now, you act like them and everything You be you and I be me…can’t you see? Apparently, being trapped is the new free It’s getting clear to me that you left on purpose Being without you is preposterous, yet wondrous Grace is far from my reach I am a sea without its beach Grace is far from my reach I am a sea without its beach Grace is far from my reach You are the sky that I beseech Never forget me Never regret me But, forgive me Drift on, free sea…
