Poem
Can you still remember How it used to be The poetic fire we had When our pens were chemistry The dance floor was full But it was only you and me Your gentle whisper How you could set me free In my mind you were in my arms Could not resist your sweet charms Can you still remember It's not too late These hearts can beat again If I can find the words Girl, just breathe me in You never know until you try This could be hello, not goodbye We could start anew Make it like before Your perfect lines Make me long for more Until finally then... These hearts can beat again Can you still remember When you were my island girl Separated by ocean waves Still we gave love a whirl You were the painter's canvas I was the painter's brush Every stroke was magic A masterpiece.. My rush All the inhibitions fell away Lover's lyric the music played Can you remember It's not too late These hearts can beat again If I can find the words Girl, just breathe me in You never know until you try This could be hello, not goodbye We could start anew Make it like before Your perfect lines Make me long for more Until finally then... These hearts can beat again So, God I'm begging please Down on the floor See me on my knees Make it like before When I close my eyes Bring me to her coast Melting all my whys Until she's so close That she remembers It's not too late These hearts can beat again If I can find the words Girl, just breathe me in You never know until you try This could be hello, not goodbye We could start anew Make it like before Your perfect lines Make me long for more Until finally then... These hearts can beat again ~Lyric Man Note: This write is about two poets who used to have such powerful chemistry that it was almost like a romantic dance. But something has happened to that chemistry.. and the longing poet is pulling on remembrance in the hopes of sparking again what once burned bright.
