Poem
I didn't have a chance to say goodbye, to let you know how dear you are to me and though my chance is gone, I still will try the sadness that I feel won't let me be You were a gentleman and caring friend the words you wrote brought joy and brought relief In verse you mourned your son's untimely end You'd also lost your wife; you knew of grief You also knew the healing power of joy The jokes you wrote in rhyme would make us smile And though your father's heart so missed your boy You knew he'd lived a life that was worthwhile I mourn your death, but celebrate your life Your words live on in me, safe and secure Your resting now, at peace from all the strife You will be missed, my friend, of that be sure I know the time will come when you will rise All strong and glorified before the throne We all will see that twinkle in your eyes You'll get a great reward for love you've shone Till time when I can see you face to face And share eternity in heaven sweet I leave you in God's hands, cradled in grace while I look for that day when we can meet Eileen Manassian In Memory of Tim Ryerson This is a poem Tim and I wrote for a contest on Past Lives We are Lovers Throughout history, we are lovers Throughout history, we are soul mates We are Romeo and Juliet We are Anthony and Cleopatra We are Lancelot and Guinevere We are Tristan and Isolde Scarlett O' Hara and Rhett Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Pocahontas and John Jayne Eyre and Rochester... Blended inside one another Melted inside one another Two hearts are one Two souls are one Throughout the ages Throughout eternity Forever was Forever shall be... You and I The sweetest symphony, and if there were to be another life than the one that we now live, I know your soul would find mine We would be the next world renowned lovers, our names immortalized in the books that will be written, for a love like ours, this passion we share, defies the boundaries of time It's a living entity infused with heaven's light and its longevity You and I We lived; we live; we will live, for we are the embodiment of love We ARE love Personified You and I Love's sweetest refrain Yesterday, now, and forever YOU and I Collab between Tim Ryerson and Eileen Ghali For Carolyn Devonshire's Contest Past Lives June 25, 2014 * A fictitious write 3rd place win
