Poem
Jaded by a few If only you knew... What it feels like... To be neglected like a rusty, old bike... I'd hike a thousand mountains I'd cry a thousand fountains Just to see you flourish That is my only wish My ego is misunderstood I'm on my own and good I just need space to recollect myself again I just want you to understand... I'm not always that reliable pen... That quivers in your palm of intellect I am a ruined ego, a worthless reject No one will ever love me Patience is the only key To unlock another opportunity Love will come and go unfortunately Your ego is beyond brilliant I'm jealous and oh so hesitant Wish you were here to lift me up Wish you wouldn't show off your glory or your fame...all that is but a broken china cup You seem comfortable in your success I'm already fed up with all this craziness But, I will get over it Envious, I must admit My ego is destroyed by solitude and sadness along with it My reputation is as small as an ant; pity, it won't grow in size...I won't throw another childish fit or a mischievous misfit I will just be a man I am not a boy anymore You think you can... Break me to the core? In your precious dreams of lies, maybe... In your devious plans of deception and envy? You have such a huge ego... Yeah, so full of it, it's not even funny You sure know how to put on a show Your lies are so tasty like Blue Bunny I won't fall into your trap of deceit I won't hear your words that you repeat I don't want you to wreck my ego again... Still wondering where mine has been... Somewhere in the ground Hiding in the rowdy crowd without a single sound Deep down, I'm spell-bound By your fortunate fame of happiness abound I will find you I will wait for you I will catch you I will earn back my dignity I know vengeance is on Him... But, times like these look so grim... And I, frankly, need to do something about it! Don't grieve! It's not like I lack faith or hope...so, cope with it or leave And do me a favor Leave my ego alone! If you can, you harsh sir, I would like to have this ego journey on my own... alone... without you, always on your phone and me, left as a deprived, dry bone I don't want you to taint me with hatred I don't need to envy you or feel this dread Burn away our egos into ashes and embers of nothingness Churn it away into the sea of something brand new with sincerity Because... Egos are only temporary Just pause... Think before you do and you'll be truly happy With or without a reputation of fluctuating desire Scorch it with our rare and passionate fire We can't be free with our ego, getting in the way and leading us astray We can't be happy if our fame is an undying flame night and day Get out of this bondage that lacks radiance of deliverance This comfort zone of pleasing many... It's breaking us, yet we feel pride, confidence and arrogance Roam, regardless of our egos, without a worry We have ourselves to satisfy Forget the others for a time... You and I, I can't deny, We look extremely sublime... Jaded by a few... You already knew What it is like To be in my shoes of a worn-out ego and earning first place in the worst reputation... awarded for having a million dislikes online - discouraged by the cyberbullying freaks on social media; it's almost like feeling the aftershocks of a lightning strike Our egos deserve better than this... Hardship and madness distress... We need to be rich in joyful bliss Never again, seeking company from fickle success...fraud in excess...more or less... Let's be positive... Not agitated and negative... I fear that your ego might give... Mine a bad outlook or framework... All I ask is for you not to be a jerk! So, keep your naughty ego to yourself, mister! Or...I will manipulate your reputation by giving it a blister... Ooh, beat that! I think the cat got the rat under the mat... You got caught With a fake, know-it-all reputation Fame and fortune isn't everything, yet it was something you sought and fought over, giving it your best shot Our egos are tossed to and fro in anticipation... it's surrounded by expectation and rejection's temptation Fame's flame will die out Like our egos no doubt Pick a route to trek on... Before time runs out and opportunities are gone
