So many people always scream
that word ‘diversity,’
as if it’s the only idea
that we should ever see.
Yet more and more the shouting
comes off as childish,
more and more I think they
have a harmful fetish.

To start with they only will care
about external stuff,
meaningless pigment in the skin,
cried about oh-so-much.
As if protection from the sun
was a valid way to judge,
as if such arbitrary groupings
are not recycled Klan sludge.

Seriously, just take two men,
one dark-skinned, one light,
both raised in safe suburbs,
unafraid to walk at night,
both went on to be engineers,
and earned master’s degrees,
both hired for the same division,
designing new PCs.

Am I supposed to look, and think
there is much difference?
That one of them must be better
because of their pigment?
That one is morally superior,
or somehow gets the win
simply because, arbitrarily,
they were born with different skin?

Skin doesn’t really matter much
when dealing with the mind,
so to give out favors for it
is garbage, out-of-line.
I don’t doubt those engineers
are quite different,
they’re two separate individuals,
by unique routes they went.

I think there lies the problem
with all this ‘diverse’ talk,
it treats people like collectives,
ignores the paths we walk.
Ignores the stupidity of skin,
variation of the brain,
tries to make ‘many’ of the ‘one,’
which is bloody insane.

Even the word ‘diversity,’
carries no moral weight,
it simply describes difference,
says nothing of love or hate.
Jihadists have a philosophy,
different then our own,
embrace that for ‘diversity,’
and away you might be blown.

And does not exclusion
have a big role to play?
Would evolution have made it,
if it had nothing to say?
Do you not exclude a stranger
from where your family lives?
Do we not exclude pedophiles
from places filled with kids?

And fact is that many colors
neither fail, nor improve,
it’s the ideas within the mind
society needs to use,
and yet diversity of thought
is the one type they hate,
on our college campuses
they won’t even tolerate

an idea with which they disagree,
they will violently attack,
after eight decades the Brownshirts
have made a comeback.
The only sort of diversity
that’s worthwhile to have
is pilloried by professors
who all think freedom bad.

But lies don’t change reality,
give them no credence,
judging people one at a time,
that's the way to make sense.
If you’re tired of the nonsense,
if you want and end to it,
reject this shallow ‘diversity,’
cheer competence and merit.
