Poem
The house is a wreck, my left shoe’s loose, and the baby’s crying, So we all know what to do. But sad mama did it, And a fancy dancy lady was told by my 8-year-old bully-fied, snitch brother, Lou. Those damned cops came to school in a sneaky way, Brought in by our nut counselor, Missus Kay. And those damned cops came in and wrecked things, And we kids smack-fighted and that stupid baby fussed. And our beautiful, wonderful house got sold, Our meth lab is no secret, and my daddy cussed. We’re all mad at mama, Especially me and Dad. Cause that damned house was the best we’d ever had. Wasn’t it bad enough that mama was bringing in those men? Did she have to put that damned liquor in that baby bottle too? I mean, in front of the young ones, Especially that crappy tattle tale, ugly son-of-a-sword-swallower, Bully Lou? Of course she did, STUPID. Cause the police gotta know. So they can come up in here and kill us. Way up and way down low. It ain’t like we weren’t already about half way dead. Especially daddy and me. You NUMSKULL, how else do you get a baby to sleep, or in a bed? I was gonna grow up and buy a mansion and stuff, and now we landed in hell. If I could get my hands on that counselor and my brother, I'd already be in jail. Crap! Here comes that smiley, eager, ugly foster mama, Who is pretending like food is free. But I’ve been fooled by the best, little lady, So I’ve hidden away all the hurt parts of me. You can shake me and smack me, belt me if you have to, But the soul of this MAN, you will NEVER see. Nah, these fancy people in their fancy cars, and their clean stupid Houses, with their stupid kids of three, They’ll never see my true heart, ‘cause after all the belts I’ve had, I’ve Built a big nice fence around me.
