Share
Being vulnerable is not easy
Giving in and letting go
No more hiding or pretending
Letting truthful feelings show
And it’s scary, that’s for certain
Who would like to stand this test?
It’s as if one dares to open
Heart and mind and even chest
But the wise one will acknowledge
That the need for that is real
For the one who keeps a distance
Will not know how it is to feel
And to feel is to experience
To experience is to live
This gives reasons to be thankful
Even reasons to forgive
And forgiving is a virtue
This is how we bond and grow
Those who do not wish for bonding
Think they live, but they don’t know
They’re like plants with pretty flowers
Put in pots upon a sill
But come closer and you’ll notice
They are plastic, what a thrill!
To be vulnerable is daring
You’ll have to put yourself out there
Well, so what, all this is useful
For you’ll have a lot to share
Be it pain, or be it pleasure
Be it happiness or grief
Show that you’re not scared of feeling
Just share and you will find relief.
