Ellipsis
An ellipsis is an intentional omission of words that the reader can supply from the context. In poetry, it may also appear as the punctuation mark of three dots, which can signal a trailing thought, a pause, or words left unsaid. Poets use it to create hesitation, silence, or a sense that meaning continues beyond the line.
Example
I meant to say I loved you, but then the rain...
and the rest stayed between the thunder and me.
