Listen to poem:
a silence howls beneath a moonless sky
voices hushed in the distance
as beady eyes peer -- longingly --
breathless -- their screams muffled

a veil of dread rolls across the land
sets the night into paralysis
until beneath that moonless sky
the silence engulfs the depths of darkness
