Violet Kiss of Dawn

Violet Kiss of Dawn

Welcoming
 the breaking breath
 of dawn
 weak as a new born
 fawn
 Spirits of the past
 lingering
 in the violet
 morning mist

Dew drops
 reflecting
 dream’s early
 mornings kiss
 bequeathing
 now the hauntings
 for the day
 to be dismissed
 while my spirit
 resists.

Hi Debra: Nice to see you are still writing. Loved your poem! I have seen so many colors of the dawn; don't think I remember Violet. Exquisite!! Did you write on Lulu poetry? Thought I remembered the unusual spelling of your name.

This is a mystic morning interlude with it's vail of violet so subdued. It leaves the soul to search all day to find a better brighter way. And carry out that violet dream that lingered from the moonlight's beam. Love this, makes me think of some of the Moody Blues album covers.
