there are people who are free to drift 
in and out of our life as they pursue their destiny

they’ll always shine and make us proud
we even know them

they’re people who restore our faith in humanity
and in what is most impressive 

people who’ve gone through hell and back
and rose above it

people who never give up and are the epitome
of hope, courage and determination

people who insist on living life to its fullest
no matter the cost

they walk humbly among us as they impact
the lives of everyone they touch

and surprisingly they don’t even know
how truly amazing they are

because these people are indeed a rare breed
