The Hidden Girl

That story was so sad,
and unbelievably wild--
how they managed to protect
this innocent, small child

It inspired me to check out
more library books
on other Holocaust children
who survived in nooks

Like 14 Survival Stories --
"Hidden Like Anne Frank"
who each had some brave people
in Amsterdam to thank

Except, UN-like poor Anne Frank,
these other ones survived
in the right place, at the right time,
resistors "connived" :)
