The children of Cain

The purpose of life is

to discover
the purpose of life

We are the children of Cain

cursed-wanderers all
building towers sky-ward

desperate to be reunited
with our ground-of-being

the echoes of
our hearts' call

never returning

I really like this one. I don't believe the view I grew up with Mormonism though.

Interesting poem. However I prefer to think of myself as a descendant of Seth

"Reification" has it that biologically-intrinsic "Morality" understood as a-priori to Perception makes "Religion" a "Collective" or "Shared" Psychological experience. ~ CHAT ~ put it this way: ~ God = the unpatterned, unnameable origin of all value = Dynamic Quality = the ineffable source that both creates and escapes form. ~ Science then wouldn't "believe in God" the way theology does—but it could include God, as the unknowable wellspring that gives rise to all knowables. That’s not dogma—it’s metaphysics.

The true God, Jehovah, is no mere invention of mankind. He is the source of life

I know- that first instance which can be understood as: "reparations" ~ The story's consistency reflecting (like echoes) backwards, an author (ground-of-being) we recognize - his purpose becoming ours. I was going to say also- 'An understanding God would forgive us for inventing him in the first place'.
