Subliminal

Helium filled balloons
Rose above the weary
Casket impaled with in
The crevice onlooker’s teary
Dressed in black
No one bright
Send off to the dead
No dry eye in sight
There is always
A story to be told
Car crash death
Young or old
Sickness and disease
All ends the same
Heart stops beating
Soul loss is to blame
Adieu to the dead
Whatever path they take
Nothing is set in stone except
An epitaph for the livings’ sake

Dear Kelli, What an exploration of mortality's solemn embrace. I loved how the helium balloons ascending above the casket, juxtaposed with the mourners' tears, create a powerful contrast. Your deft wordplay captures the universal experience of grief, transcending individual circumstances. Your evocative verses shows life's fragility and the shared human journey towards the inevitable. It is a profound and thought-provoking piece that is deeply felt. - Blessings, Daniel
